Challenge: The Clients desire was to pioneer innovation through Calgary’s first “Garden-to-Table” development which embraces agricultural urbanism planning principles and celebrates an enduring farming and ranching legacy of the Ollerenshaw family that began in 1923.

Result: The 320-acre development consists of two walkable neighbourhoods, a mixed-use Activity Centre street and a comprehensive open space system. The garden-to-table concept is delivered through three squares for community agricultural activities and an east-west greenway commemorating the legacy of the Ollerenshaw family.

Situated personnel were involved in the preparation of Rangeview Area Structure Plan, Rangeview Business Case, and led the Outline Plan and Land Use which involved negotiation on innovative elements to integrate local food growing areas. The Plan was approved in December 2018. The first phase of the development was launched in September 2021.
